Since our big move to Cleveland, we’ve been noticing more magick and synchronicity than ever. One of our biggest manifestations this week was getting our books stocked in a new witch shop in a nearby town. Love and magick is thick in this part of Ohio and it’s inspiring us to get a little witchier in our creations. This week’s I Love Mondays is another spell-casting altar, with prompts for manifesting, prepaving, loving and meditating. Remember your power with these simple exercises and please let us know the magick and synchronicities you experience!
1. All you have to do is want it.
Manifestation (noun): an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something; a symptom or sign; a version or incarnation of something or someone; an appearance of spirit. (via Google)
Often times, we can get so wrapped up on the so-called action of manifesting. The verb 'manifestation' can be a bit of a misnomer because it implies that we are doing something or taking some kind of action to MAKE the thing come into existence. This can cause a lot of confusion and can cause you to push away the very thing you hope to attract. The more you try to manifest it, the more you activate a vibration of not having it. But when you ask, it is given. That is the nature of our attraction-based universe.
When your subconscious asks, it is created instantly. The only thing that can keep it away is your belief that you still need it. Know that life experience causes you to ask. You don't have to take any action to let the universe know what you want, it already knows as a result of the signal you are sending. All you have to do is want the thing. Know that if life has caused you to ask for it, it's coming. Trust that universal truth and the thing will appear. What has life experience caused you to ask for? Trust that it is on it's way (it already exists), and there's nothing you have to DO to MAKE it manifest.

2. Get in the feeling place of what you want.
When we first started trying to sell our books and zines in stores a few years ago, we got super nervous every time we pitched our work to a shopkeeper. What if they didn't like it? What if our work is trash? What if they hate us? Over time, we gained more confidence in our work and now when we go into a shop we know that it's their loss if they don't want to sell our warez. Through life experience we now have an expectation of success and when we go into a pitch we feel emotionally sound.
For example, a couple days ago we decided to venture to Coven, a new witch shop in Lakewood, OH (a neighboring suburb to Cleveland). It was their opening day, and we decided to take a chance, pack a backpack full of books, and make the 4.5 mile trek because we had a feeling. We had a feeling it was a match. We had a feeling the shopkeeper would love our work, and while we were walking there we didn't let ourselves stray from that feeling of knowing. We had a vision in our minds of the shopkeeper loving our work and saying that she was so happy that she attracted us. And that's exactly what happened! It was a perfect match!
The events were an exact out-picturing of the emotional state we chose. Granted, we have a lot of life experience that brought us to a feeling place of confidence in our work, but we still had to make the choice to feel the way we wanted to feel at the event before the actual event.
First you feel it, then you see it. If you feel nervous, scattered or afraid, the events in your life will have no choice but to reflect that. If you choose to feel certainty, love and joy then the events of your life will enhance that. Is there an event coming up in your life that you want to go a certain way? Try feeling for the feeling you want to feel in the situation. Hold on to that feeling. If at any time you start to wonder or worry about how it's going to go, come back to the feeling you want to feel—maybe satisfaction, validation, joy or relief. Know that while you don't have any control over how the events will unfold, you can always choose how you feel. And when you feel joy going into the event, life has no choice but to follow.
Kelly was telling me about a passage in Osho’s Book of Secrets, where Osho explains how when you feel in love with someone, you often give that person the credit for the good feeling you feel. However, Osho reminds us, YOU are the source of that love feeling. When you feel in love, you are receiving the blessing of love. But you don’t need to be in love with someone to receive the blessing. You can do it just by choosing to love. And how do you love? By releasing your resistance. Love is the absence of resistance. It is your natural state.
Releasing resistance can be a daunting concept, but I found a wonderful process in Gay Hendrick’s Learning to Love Yourself that can help us love more freely. It all begins within, by loving yourself. Hendricks explains that you love yourself by loving ALL the parts of you that need love, especially the unpleasant things you are avoiding. The sadness, the pain, the fear, the disappointing parts. And you love those unpleasant things by no longer resisting them.
The first thing to do to release your resistance to your painful experiences is just notice. Notice how you are feeling right now. No matter how you feel, be honest. Next, just say to yourself, “I love myself for feeling __________.” And if you find yourself thinking, “I definitely DON’T love myself for feeling that!” Then you take it one step further, and say “I love myself for not being able to love myself for feeling __________.”
This process removes your resistance to experiencing pain, thus creating space for those things to be experienced and pass through you. If you keep hiding from what you’re feeling, it will keep coming back to haunt you. But if you take just a few moments to notice how you truly feel, and love yourself for it, you let go of the feeling and it is free to move on. From this process comes the blessing of love.
4. Keep a 7-Day Meditation Record.
Kelly and I are doing the 40 Day Prosperity Plan again, because we noticed ourselves feeling a little constricted about money. A bonus aspect of the 40 Day Plan is that one of the rules is that you cannot skip a day. So in addition to meditating on my true source of abundance, I am meditating 40 days in a row without taking a day off. Meditating every single day creates so many benefits—remembering the meaning of life, being able to make peace with what is, feeling relaxed and confident, to name a few—that we wanted to create a 7-Day Meditation Challenge on this week’s I Love Mondays. Make it a goal to meditate every single day for the next week and see what benefits you notice. Write them down on the worksheet and reap the rewards of your practice!
