In order to wake up to the perfection of the present moment, you must become conscious of your thoughts. Only thoughts can make you feel bad, and when you give yourself some distance from them by observing, you take your power as the creator back. In the present moment, everything is relaxed and there’s nothing to worry about. So if you’re worried or not having fun, return to the watcher position. The one who watches is already free!
We begin with a simple decision-making exercise to stop over-thinking and rely more on intuition. Then we get down to the specifics: Will This Thought Help Me? Find out whether the thoughts you’re thinking are actually doing you any good.
Once you’ve cleared some space by making decisions and letting go of thoughts not helping you, we begin the practice of watching thoughts. It’s easy to get sucked into a train of thought and follow it all the way to its inevitable derailment. But if you can watch your thoughts go by, you sit back into witness consciousness—the perspective of god. You are NOT your thoughts. You are the awareness who watches your thoughts. And that awareness is god itself.
