Spell for Weightlessness is a spread from the Monthly Magickal Record by School of Life Design co-creators Jessica Mullen and Kelly Cree.
The things we don’t like about other people can help us see where we need to forgive ourselves. When we notice someone else’s shortcomings, it is an indicator of what we dislike in our own selves. When we berate someone for being careless, we are calling ourselves out for our own past error. We wouldn’t notice the negative behavior if it hadn’t first originated in ourselves.
We feel guilty for the things we don’t like about ourselves. But often the things we don’t like lie below our surface of consciousness. It’s easy to notice flaws in others, but a little more difficult to see those same flaws in ourselves. But as the old adage goes, “It takes one to know one.”
When you see something you don’t like in someone, embrace this opportunity to forgive yourself. If you can truly forgive yourself for the same egregious behavior, you won’t be bothered by it in someone else. By giving yourself the love and forgiveness you crave, you also offer it to the person reflecting you. With forgiveness comes freedom, and the delight of a weight lifted!
