What does it mean to take something personally? It means that someone does something and you think it’s about you.
You think they did something because of your own fault, because your own failure as a person. When you take things personally, you’re being a person. You’re being an ego that has feelings that can be hurt.

Breathe in and notice what it feels like to take
something personally.
Breathe out and really feel that feeling. What is it like?

It feels like someone doesn’t want to see you because they don’t like you. Someone doesn’t want to spend time with you because you did something wrong. What does it feel like to feel like it’s your fault that things are going wrong? What does it feel like to feel like someone doesn’t like you? What does it feel like to feel like someone doesn’t want to be around you because of who you are?

Breathe in and feel that suffering.
Breathe out and really identify that feeling of taking it
personally, of feeling like you’re not good enough.

That’s what it’s like, to take things personally. It feels like you’re not good enough, so people are treating you wrong. You don’t deserve to be treated better, and so people don’t want to be around you, or they want to be mean to you.

Breathe in and feel that feeling of not being good enough.
Breathe out and really feel it because we’re going to use it as an arrow pulling back, to transcend the false belief that you did something wrong!
